dg resource directory
The act of submitting creative work for a dramatist is as necessary as finishing it. But the process of finding the right submission opportunity can feel overwhelming. This is why, for more than 20 years, the Dramatists Guild has compiled a submissions and opportunities database, and published a full directory of theatres, agents, festivals, contests, workshops, retreats, and other submission opportunities to help make the life of the dramatist an easier one.

This functionality is part of suite of resources designed to help playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.

Only active members or subscribers of the Guild may use the Resource Directory.

We are interested in works with a strong focus on social change and narratives that have been traditionally underrepresented in mass media. We accept new, previously unproduced plays from both literary agents and directly from playwrights as unsolicited manuscripts, with some limitations. 'Unproduced' means not previously seen on a stage in a professional capacity...

Playing On Air produces radio, podcasts, and low-cost live programming of contemporary plays. Let’s face it: professional live theater is exclusive. Ticket prices are high, and often the “best” professional theater is clustered in major metropolitan areas--outside the daily lives of millions of Americans. We want to break the financial and geographic barriers to live theater. We want to bring award-winning actors and compelling short plays into headphones, cars, living rooms, subways and kitchens. In today’s fast-moving world, we want to provide theater in a way that’s accessible and pocket...
