The Dramatists Guild is thrilled to announce that 54 Below has joined our Playwrights Welcome program!
54 Below, Broadway’s Supper Club, offers an unforgettable New York nightlife experience, combining performances by Broadway’s best with world class dining in an elegant setting. A recipient of the 2022 TONY AWARDS® Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, the club is known as Broadway’s Living Room, a home away from home for Broadway professionals and audiences alike.
Playwrights Welcome is a national ticketing initiative, and DG member benefit, that asks theatres to offer tickets that would otherwise go unused (free of charge) to playwrights, composers, lyricists, and librettists. This program was developed for Dramatists Guild of America members by Samuel French, a Concord Theatricals company, along with input from other publishing and licensing houses. By providing available tickets (free of charge) to dramatists, theatres and arts organizations can remove cost barriers and share their productions with artists who may not otherwise be able to see these shows.
Additional participating theatres that have joined the Playwrights Welcome program this past year include Classic Stage Company, Conch Shell Productions, East West Players, Firehouse Theater, Hershey Area Playhouse, Irish Repertory Theatre, Knowledge Workings Theater, Kumu Kahua Theatre, LakehouseRanchdotpng, Lyric Stage Company of Boston, Melon Patch Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, Renaissance Theatre Company, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, South Coast Repertory, Visceral Entertainment, Wasatch Theatre Company, The Winter Park Playhouse, and The York Theatre Company.
Note: Although we endeavor to keep policies up to date, it is always best practice to call ahead to confirm the participating theatre's most current Playwrights Welcome protocol. We ask DG members to be respectful of the theatre's staff when reaching out. If you run into any issues, please email us at questions@dramatistsguild.com.
