Adrienne Kennedy
’s accolades include the 2022 Gold Medal for Drama from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, three Obie Awards including one for Lifetime Achievement, a Guggenheim Award, the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Lila Wallace Reader’s Digest Award, induction into the Theater Hall of Fame, an honorary doctorate from Ohio State University, the PEN/Laura Pels International Foundation for Theater Award as a Master American Dramatist, a 2023 Special Citation from the New York Drama Critics Circle, and the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Dramatists Guild.
