What is a favorite memory from this season?

It’s very hard to describe what it feels like to sit next to John Kander when he’s composing. He’ll say something to the effect of, “What if it’s something like this...”And then his hands are moving, and the melody and the harmonies and the rhythm are happening at the same time, it comes all at once, and your job as the lyricist is to start writing something, anything, so that when he looks up you’ve got something to sing along to it.
