Eric Jones (Composer, Lyricist & Librettist) is a Medford, Massachusetts born, Minnesota & Texas raised artist. Mr. Jones is a graduate of Texas Southern University, B.S. Pharmacy. He has been involved with the Christian theater circuit since 1995 as a writer, actor, director and composer. Writing credits includes: Children of the Passage, Three Crosses, Postcard Journeys through Christmas, Hallelujah Follies, Sweet Freedom, American Skin Freedom Quilt, Liberators and Fired! The Musical, American Rifle at the Fade to Black Theater Festival, & Audition at the Fragmentation IV; Acting credits include: The Elder in Children of the Passage, Rev. Tuck in Three Crosses, Seward in Winter Garden, Mr. Gable in Postcard Journeys through Christmas. Film Credits; Mortal Love for the 48 Hour Film Project Houston 2011 (Screenwriter & Actor), Curveball for the 48 Hour Film Project 2012 (Story Writer, Actor, and Producer) winner of 5 awards for Best of Film ceremony Dreamland Murders (Story and Co-Scriptwriter, Actor & Producer); winner of 6 Awards for Best of Film including Best Screenplay Nomination. Dreamland Murders also won the 2015 Silver REMI Award at the 2015 World Fest Houston Film Festival for Best Dark Comedy Recently. Mr. Jones won Best Screenplay Short at the 2020 National Black Film Festival for The Knowledge Men and his musical Liberators was accepted into the 2018 Chicago Musical Theater Festival. Mr. Jones is currently enrolled into the MFA Screenwriting Program at Houston Baptist University, and he is completing his professional certification of Film Producing at UCLA School of Film and Theatre. Regional Rep: Houston

I am very grateful for this opportunity to serve as Regional Representative in the fourth largest city in America that is Houston. We have the second largest theatre district in the country. Houston's strong theatre community has premiered many new and exciting plays and musicals. Our city has a very rich and racially diverse population. I am currently working with members to put together and expand our Ambassador team that will reflect on, and resonate with, our diversity.  I am also working on building a bridge with our local musical theatre artists so that their works can have a spotlight and focus. We want to create a Broadway South where new, original musical theatre work can be premiered in our city. I also want to build a database of all of our local community and regional theatres here in town. I also see large contributions of BIPOC and Latinx theatre playwrights that are producing great works here. We want to be a haven and a support for these artists so their voices can be recognized, as well. I want to personally thank William Duell for being a mentor to me and being such a strong advocate for local playwrights in Houston. Hopefully, when things are set to fire up again, I want to continue to be a mentor and advocate for our local writers here in the Lone Star State.
