Larry Dean Harris: Why I Joined the Guild
The closing of 2021 has seen a lot of changes in the live theatre community, with the return of most regional and community theatres in Houston. There is a sense of relief and uncertainty about the future of the stage. The main question: are audiences willing to come back to live theatre? Since the beginning of 2021, Texas Governor Abbott made it clear that they are not going to mandate vaccinations in public and private facilities despite the fears of the delta variant of COVID-19. Texas is one of the few states to have such loose legislation and mandates protecting their citizens against the virus.
