Melissa Leilani Larson’s plays include SWEETHEART COME (Pygmalion Theatre Co.), BITTER LEMON (Creekside Theatre Fest commission), THE GIRL WHO DRANK THE MOON (Utah Valley University commission), THE POST OFFICE, MOUNTAIN LAW, THE EDIBLE COMPLEX (seen by 15,000 children in 40+ Utah schools), PILOT PROGRAM (Sackerson), LITTLE HAPPY SECRETS (Salt Lake Acting Company Fearless Fringe), PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (Miami University Ohio), MARTYRS’ CROSSING (Edinburgh Fringe), STANDING STILL STANDING, LADY IN WAITING, A FLICKERING and THE WEAVER OF RAVELOE. In 2020, MOUNTAIN LAW was the runner-up in the inaugural Women's Voices Play Festival at Mad Cow Theatre. In 2019, Mel was commissioned by Plan-B Theatre, the Gandhi Alliance for Peace and Granite School District to adapt Rabindranath Tagore's THE POST OFFICE. SWEETHEART COME was a 2016 O’Neill National Playwrights Conference semi-finalist. She was the 2018 recipient of the Smith-Pettit Foundation Award for Outstanding Contribution to Mormon Letters. Mel is a member of the Plan-B Playwrights Lab. MFA, Iowa Playwrights Workshop.
