New England - East: A Pandemic-Infused Winter

Though we’ve all hunkered down for the pandemic-infused New England winter, we have managed to lead some events in our region.

In early December we had David Valdes, Miranda ADEkoje, and Lia Romeo join us for a panel on writing plays for Zoom/streaming or adapting material for virtual performance. David’s play, Downtown Crossing, about undocumented immigrants, was the result of a two-year collaboration between Company One and the Boston Public Library, originally intended for in-person performance, but ended up being live-streamed in October. It was a complex production, with a lot of moving parts, cinematic backgrounds—highly ambitious.
