The theatre season in Eastern New England kicked off on May 1, 2022, with the live-and-in-person return of the Boston Theater Marathon, sponsored by Boston Playwrights’ Theatre (BPT) and including 50 new ten-minute plays by New England playwrights, produced by 50 New England theatre companies, all to raise money for the Theatre Community Benevolent Fund.
