Susan Birkenhead wrote the lyrics for Jelly's Last Jam, Triumph of Love, Working, and What About Luv? She wrote additional lyrics for High Society, with a book by Arthur Kopit and a score by Cole Porter. She wrote lyrics for Pieces of Eight with Jule Styne and Michael Stewart, Fanny Hackabout Jones with Erica Jong and Lucy Simon, and was one of the contributors to A My Name is Alice. She wrote lyrics for Moonstruck, with Henry Krieger and John Patrick Shanley, Minsky's with Charles Strouse and Bob Martin, Monsoon Wedding with Sabrina Dahwan, Vishal Bhardwaj  and Mira Nair. She is currently working on The Secret Life of Bees with Lynn Nottage and Duncan Sheik, and Betty Boop with Sally Robinson and David Foster .
