The 2022-23 season in Minneapolis/Saint Paul has been one of transformation, upheaval, major transitions and announcements, big anniversaries, sad goodbyes, and as ever, an abundantly fertile ground for new work. We came out of the pandemic swinging but not unscathed. We’ve seen some theatres teeter on the brink, yet our ecosystem still thrives. The pandemic pressed pause on many projects that have since been produced, and audiences are coming back. And so it’s with joy that I give you this report on all the activity in the Twin Cities, with the assurance that I must have left some things out, for which I beg forgiveness.
