William Mohammad Razavi was born in Tehran, Iran, took his first steps at Fort Benning, Georgia and grew up in Texas. He is a graduate of Trinity University and Brandeis University. His plays include Lusitania, The Next-To-Last-Flight of Amelia Earhart, Macbeth, The Private Life of Ernest Hemingway, The Ricky Harrow Pitcher Show, Illuminati, Wenceslaus Square, The Complete Fragments of Menander: Some Assembly Required, The Sign of the Times, Sullivan’s Detours and The Professionals. He is a freelance writer whose film and theatre criticism has appeared in the San Antonio Current and whose work has been produced across the country. He has done readings for Literary Death Match and Five Things Austin. An excerpt from his memoir, Turban Cowboy was published in Daily Life through World History in Primary Documents (Greenwood Press, 2009). In 2005 a high school named for him opened in Aligudarz, Iran. He is co-founder of the Southwest Association of Literary & Dramatic Artists and was the Artistic Director of the Overtime Theater in San Antonio, Texas from 2014-2021.  He has taught as an adjunct at Trinity University, Our Lady of the Lake University, St. Mary's University and the Southwest School of Art.
